SAMBICA is a light on the lake, inspiring youth to a relationship with Jesus Christ.  We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and experienced Food Services Manager and Head Chef to join our small yet passionate and highly effective team.  If you thrive on exceeding guest expectations through the entire dining experience and showing the light of Jesus Christ in all food-related things, this could be the perfect position for you. We are a Christian camp on Lake Sammamish in Bellevue, WA and this is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.

Some of the requirements:

  • Two or more years of related experience required. 5 years of related experience highly preferred.
  • Follower of Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous Christ-like attitude in dealing with team members and SAMBICA guests. Supports the mission and vision of SAMBICA and is willing to honor its values.
  • Strong organizational skills while being flexible and self-motivated with little or no supervision.
  • Must enjoy training and leading a team with a wide range of food service experience.

Some of the responsibilities:

  • Manages and coordinates all food services related to the camp, including menu planning, budgeting, ordering, food storage, and presentation of meals.
  • Monitors and inspects overall dining experience to assure total guest satisfaction (90% Guest Satisfaction Goal).
  • Works with the program team in the development and spiritual growth of summer and seasonal staff.

Some important details:

Summer is focused on providing food for 10 weeks of summer camp, up to 400 campers and 120 staff each week.  The Chef will lead a team of 6-8 summer team members. Summer hours are longer and the workload is more intense than the school-year months.  In the school-year months the Chef will participate in leading a team of interns and full-time team members, who are also focused on other areas of the camp, while serving approximately 3,500 visitors with Guest Groups, Youth Programming events, and other special events. 

Salary DOE.  Generous Medical/Dental/Vision coverage and retirement plan is offered.  Housing may be available as part of the overall compensation package.
