To empower world changers to thrive in life by walking in intimacy with God, aligning with their true identity, and embracing their God given destiny.
Rooted is designed for college-aged, hungry followers of Jesus who desire to deepen their faith, awaken their identity, and activate their callings in the context of life-changing community.
In January, we will fly in participants from all over the country for a three day kickoff intensive.
February through April, evening sessions will be offered virtually for out-of-state students and in-person at SAMBICA for local students. We will conclude our training with a culminating three-day intensive in late-May.
Beginning in June, participants will join the summer team as they serve at SAMBICA with bold faith, inspiring other summer staff and sharing the Gospel with 3,000 campers.
Participants will then travel together in September 2026 on a capstone trip to Turkey and Greece. We will journey together to visit the cities of Biblically significant churches and encounter the Lord in new contexts.

In summer of 2020, we had a dream of helping young leaders discover and align with their God-given design. We wanted to help them walk intimately with God, know their true identity, and boldly carry out God's calling on their lives. We recruited our first Rooted cohort in January 2021, and have trained five cohorts since. We are inspired by their personal transformation and the impact they have had on campers, summer staff, the people of Israel, and their communities back home.
We are excited for all God has in store for 2026 as we welcome our new Rooted 6.0 participants and took our Rooted 5.0 cohorts to Washington D.C. in September 2025!
SAMBICA has partnered with Passages for four years to bring Christian students on life-changing trips to the Holy Land.
Our plans to visit Israel are currently on hold due to the national hostilities facing the Holy Land. We plan to resume travel when our ministry partners deem it safe. Until this time we are pursuing other Biblically and historically significant travel opportunities for our participants.
For Rooted 3.0 - 5.0, we took students to our nation's capital in Washington D.C. to meet with key leaders in faith and government, explore the depth of the Bible at the Museum of the Bible, and experience the LORD in profound ways.
For Rooted 6.0, we are excited to take participants to Turkey and Greece to visit the 7 Churches of Revelation and trace Paul's missionary journeys throughout the Mediterranean.
These trips bring to life the narrative God is weaving throughout history and the Bible, and act as faith catalysts to inspire participants to BOLDNESS!
We are excited about your interest in our 2026 Rooted Discipleship Cohort! We are seeking hungry followers of Jesus who desire to deepen their faith, awaken their identity, and activate their callings in the context of life-changing community. We have rolling applications open now for college-aged candidates from across the country.
