Welcome to the Team
Welcome to SAMBICA! We're so glad you're here!
I've been hired! Now what?

Some things to pray for:

- for the hearts of all kids who will come this summer

- for your summer team members

- for your leadership staff that they will lead camp well

- for safety and that GOD's hand would be over everything

- for yourself that you would have the strength and that god would use you.

For older campers who prefer to sleep at home, rather than staying overnight at camp. These campers participate in the same program as the Jr. High Overnight campers, except they go home at 5:00 PM each night. A hot lunch is served each day.

Post-Hire FAQ's

Staff training will take place between June 10 – 21 (roughly). If you know that you cannot attend staff training in part, or in full, you are still encouraged to apply. Some exceptions can be made. If hired, we would require you to attend a First Aid and CPR training class near you, at your own expense. There may be additional requirements depending upon position. All team members must complete our online training before arrival.
Yes. If you do not currently have Standard First Aid and CPR certification, we will provide instruction and certification during staff training for. Please let us know ahead of time if you need one or both trainings so that we can have enough instructors. All summer team members are required to have current First Aid and CPR certification.
Yes, we do have a lifeguard training course at the beginning of staff training. Please contact Ray for more information. If you are certified before summer, we will need a copy of your certification and it will need to include a waterfront training.
New tattoos and piercings are a health issue for our summer team. Many of the activities we have at camp involve getting into the waters of Lake Sammamish. Lake Sammamish is a fairly clean lake, but infections still happen. By choosing to get a new tattoo or piercing during the summer you open the door to getting an infection that could prevent you from doing your job. We are not taking a theological stand about tattoos and piercings. You are welcome to have healed tattoos and piercings prior to employment with SAMBICA.
All positions can expect between 3 and 5 (1 hour) break times during the week (might be in the evening). Also, team members get time off on the weekends from Friday at 10pm to Sunday at 3:45pm. Leadership team members are required to be back on camp by 3:00pm on Sunday. This schedule excludes the team banquet weekend.
For our summer staffers, church attendance is strongly encouraged. Due to the diversity of denominations represented, our summer staff will sometimes scatter to attend several different churches on Sunday morning. Many of our staff carpool to church. We also bus staff to at least one or two churches each Sunday throughout the summer. While SAMBICA does not endorse a specific church denomination, the following churches are some of the favorites for our summer staff: Doxa Church, Timberlake Church, Churchome, and Overlake Christian Church.
