Welcome to the Team

Welcome to SAMBICA's 2026 Summer Team!

I've been hired! Now what?

God is inviting you to experience more of His love and power than ever before. He has GOOD PLANS for you and you can seek Him and know Him as you prepare to come this summer.

  • Ask God how He wants to grow you this summer.
  • Ask God what He is uniquely calling you into this summer, what strengths you are bringing to the team and how He wants you to contribute.
  • Ask God what He wants to reveal about Himself, and dream of ways that you would love to experience God.
  • Pray for the hearts of the campers who will be at SAMBICA, for their faith to deepen, for their hearts to be receptive to the Gospel, for their eyes to open more to how God is speaking.
  • Pray for the Summer Staff, for unity and community to build beautifully. For cohesive teams and joyful relationships.

Make your travel plans, solidify what dates you're planning to work, and plan for what you want to bring to camp with the help of the packing list below!

Post-Hire FAQ's

Staff training is a week of fellowship, equipping, and fun! You will get to know the whole summer team, receive critical information about how SAMBICA runs and how to partner with the ministry, and gain specific training on your role! We balance social time with teaching and play with time with God! This week is a whirlwind and a joy!

We have dormitory style housing for all staff. All non-counselor positions will have a permanent spot in a bunk room with other staff for the summer. Counselors will move from room to room depending on the week in order to accommodate for overnight campers. Living in shared housing requires flexibility and grace! We encourage you to pack lightly and prepare to live in community!

We provide meals from Sunday dinner through Friday dinner with leftovers available during the weekends. During the day, meals are catered towards our campers with dishes like chicken sandwiches, tacos, and hot dogs. For other meals, our kitchen team caters towards our staff and provide delicious variety of meals! Each meal there is a salad bar available with vegetables and fruit for you to supplement your meal.

Depending on your position, daily schedules have different opportunities for short breaks. Each team at camp plays a vital role in facilitating the best week ever for our campers so we ask for wholehearted commitment to your responsibilities! At the same time, we encourage you to be aware of your limits and be intentional with how you refresh yourself in moments that are available. Prioritize staying physically healthy, investing in intimacy with God, and maintaining a heart posture of serving and loving campers well!

During Day Camp weeks, we have ample opportunity to spend time together as a whole summer team! The Full Time Team facilitates night events on Mondays and Tuesdays that range from Worship Nights to Staff Olympics. Each week we have Wednesdays intentionally set aside with nothing scheduled so that you can use that evening to rejuvenate as you need! On Thursdays, campers stay late, so each team continues their responsibilities throughout the evening!

Weekends are off from 8:30pm after our Friday Celebration meeting until 5:30pm for the start of our Sunday Night Meeting. We encourage staff to balance their weekend with life-giving activities, making sure to spend extended time with the Lord, get caught up on physical rest, and refresh through adventure and relationships!

Many of our summer staffers are locals or have brought a car. Most often, as you make connections with the team, there are plenty of people offering to give rides to church. If you can't find a ride, connect with a Full-Time member and we'd be happy to help! Some of the churches in the area that people tend to go to include Mosaic Community Church, Reach Church, Ember, Eastridge, Timberlake Church, and Churchhome.
