I've been hired! Now what?

Things to pray for:

- The hearts of all campers who will come this summer

- Summer Staff across the board (Counselors, Program, Waterfront, Camp Care, etc.)

- Leadership and Full Time staff that they will lead and love their respective teams well

- Safety and that GOD's hand would be over every area of camp

- Your strength and faith that God would use you this summer!

Plan out what you will bring (see our guides below) and how you will arrive to SAMBICA.

Post-Hire FAQ's

Staff training will take place before camps start. If you know that you cannot attend staff training in part or in full, you are still encouraged to apply. Some exceptions can be made. If hired and cannot attend our First Aid and CPR training, we would require you to attend a First Aid and CPR training class near you at your own expense. There may be additional requirements depending upon position.
Yes. If you do not currently have Standard First Aid and CPR certification, we will provide instruction and certification during staff training for. Please let us know ahead of time if you need one or both trainings so that we can have enough instructors. All summer team members are required to have current First Aid and CPR certification.
Yes, we do offer Lifeguard Training at the beginning of staff training. If you will be taking our training, contact Regan at regan@sambica.com. If you are certified before summer, we will need a copy of your certification (must include Waterfront certification).
New tattoos and piercings are a health issue for our summer team. Majority of our activities  involve the Waterfront. Lake Sammamish is a fairly clean lake, but infections can still occur. By choosing to get a new tattoo or piercing during the summer, you open the door to getting an infection that could prevent you from doing your job. You are welcome to have healed tattoos and piercings prior to employment with SAMBICA.
All positions can expect between 3 and 5 (1 hour) break times during the week (might be in the evening). Also, team members get time off on the weekends from Friday at 10pm to Sunday at 3:45pm. Leadership team members are required to be back on camp by 3:00pm on Sunday. This schedule excludes the team banquet weekend.
For our summer staffers, church attendance is strongly encouraged. Due to the diversity of denominations represented, our summer staff will sometimes scatter to attend several different churches on Sunday morning. Many of our staff carpool to church. We also bus staff to at least one or two churches each Sunday throughout the summer. While SAMBICA does not endorse a specific church denomination, the following churches are some of the favorites for our summer staff: Doxa Church, Timberlake Church, Churchome, and Overlake Christian Church.
