Rooted is designed for college-aged, hungry followers of Jesus who desire to deepen their faith, awaken their identity, and activate their callings in the context of life-changing community.

In January, we fly participants from all over the country to SAMBICA for a three-day Rooted Kickoff Intensive.

We continue Rooted with once-a-month evening gatherings in February, March, and April (virtually for out-of-state students and in-person at SAMBICA for local students). We conclude training with a culminating three-day intensive in mid-May.

Beginning in June, participants get to put their faith into action as vibrant contributors to SAMBICA's summer team. We will play together, pray together, and share the good news of Jesus with nearly 3,000 campers!

Post summer, celebrate God's faithfulness with 12-day capstone trip to Turkey and Greece! We will adventure with Jesus to visit historical Biblical sites from Paul's missionary journeys and the churches in Revelation.

In summer of 2020, we dreamt of helping college-aged leaders discover and align with their God-given design. We wanted to help them walk intimately with God, know their true identity, and boldly carry out God's calling on their lives. We recruited our first Rooted cohort in January 2021, and have trained five cohorts since. We are inspired by their personal transformation and the impact they have had on campers, summer staff, global leaders, and their communities back home.

We are excited for all God has in store for 2026 as we welcome our new Rooted 6.0 Cohort participants!

SAMBICA partnered with Passages for four years to bring Christian students on life-changing trips to the Holy Land. 

Due to major hostilities threatening Israel, we have taken our Rooted Students to Washington D.C. the last two years. Here in our nation's capital, participants got to meet with key leaders in faith and government, explore the depth of the Bible at the Museum of the Bible, and experience the LORD in profound ways. 

For Rooted 6.0, we are excited to take participants to Turkey and Greece to visit historical Biblical sites from Paul's missionary journeys and the churches of Revelation.

These trips bring to life the glorious narrative God is weaving throughout history and the Bible, and act as faith catalysts to inspire participants to BOLDNESS!
