For the last 101 years, SAMBICA has been committed to the health and safety of all campers, guests, and staff members. This document summarizes the steps SAMBICA is taking to maintain this commitment in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Camp gives children, adults, and families a place to unplug, build healthy relationships, explore their strengths, and learn through PLAY…all in a safe, uplifting environment.
Our goal for SAMBICA in this season is for all guests and participants to experience how much God loves them, while in a safe and healthy environment!
With utmost concern for the well-being of our campers and staff, we are diligently following the guidance of the CDC and local health authorities to minimize health risks in our planning. We are committed to provide a safe and nurturing environment to learn, grow, and make life-long memories filled with hope during this unique time of history.
Plan for SAMBICA Fall Retreats 2020
(may be adjusted based on health authority and government recommendations in the coming weeks)
- We are excited to share that we are open to safely host day retreats.
- At the moment we are unable to host overnight retreats. This may change as certain restrictions are lifted.
- Camp building capacities have been reduced to allow for adequate social distancing.
- Large groups may need to split into smaller groups in order to meet DOH gathering size requirements. Please keep this in mind as you plan your retreat. Our team is here and eager to help as needed.
- .We are currently limiting our guests to those residing in Washington state.
- Additional and updated guidelines for cleanliness in all areas of camp, including Food Service and Activities.
- Daily Health Checks of all guests and staff.
- Current face covering and social distancing requirements are being followed throughout camp.
- Enhanced cleaning procedures and frequency throughout camp.
- Enhanced education of guests and staff, as well as enhanced procedures regarding personal hygiene and respiratory etiquette.
- Ventilation will be maximized in all indoor spaces.
- Procedures are in place in the event that a guest or staff member either exhibits COVID symptoms or tests positive for COVID-19.
- We are happy to suspend our normal refund and minimum guest polices as an option for groups who wish to cancel.
