Ignite Discipleship Program

Equipping Passionate Pursuers of Jesus to be Bold Ambassadors

"This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! ... So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, 'Come back to God.'" ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17, 20

What is Ignite?

To equip high schoolers who are passionately pursuing Jesus to be bold ambassadors in their spheres of influence.

  1. Who is God: He is love and He loves us
  2. Who are we: We are God's beloved
  3. Living out our faith: Living in God's love
  4. God's Word: How the Bible reveals God's love
  5. Worshipping God: How we express our love to God
  6. Community: We love because He first loved us
  7. Understanding our purpose: We are made for more because of His love
  8. Making disciples of all nations: Our response to God's love

Ignite is designed for high schoolers with an on-fire faith for the Lord, and a passion to grow deeper with Jesus as they navigate their faith in the context of high school.

In October, we launch our Ignite Program with participants from the surrounding area.

From October through February, participants will attend 8 evening sessions at SAMBICA. They will dive deeper into relationship with the Lord and build community with one another with the leadership of SAMBICA Full-Time team members.

Participants will then travel together in February 2026 on a capstone missions trip to Mazatlán, Mexico. We will join in on the work the Lord is doing in the city through participation in local ministries run by the YWAM base that hosts us.

October 2025 - February 2026 - Bi-weekly sessions at SAMBICA on Monday nights from 7-9pm. Includes worship, teaching, and small groups.

February 14-21, 2026 - Missions trip to Mazatlán, Mexico in partnership with YWAM Mazatlán.

March 2026 - Reunion session to share testimonies from the Mazatlán trip and celebrate the Ignite program as a whole.

In spring of 2023, we had a dream to equip high schoolers who are passionately pursuing Jesus to be bold ambassadors in their spheres of influence. We wanted them to know God, stand firm in Him, and take action.

Our first group of IGNITE students started in the fall of 2023, and we completed our second year of the program with our capstone trip to Mazatlán in February 2025. It is a joy to see these students grow in their personal relationship with Christ as well as boldness in sharing the Good News of Jesus to people they meet, whether it’s on the streets of Mexico or in their local communities.

We are expectant for the ways God continues to move in high schoolers hearts through the Ignite Program and to see the fruit as they walk in boldness in their communities year round!

SAMBICA has partnered with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) Mazatlán for the past two years to facilitate life-changing trips for our high school participants.

This trip is designed to deepen the faith of the participants while encouraging them to step outside their comfort zone. By following in Jesus' footsteps in sharing the Gospel and serving those in need, participants learn greater dependence on God and see his mighty hand at work!

Students will have the opportunity to serve in local ministries, share the Gospel with locals, and learn from YWAM staff.
