What’s the program about?

ADVENTURE: Step out into the world, unplugged and off camp and explore Christian faith foundations.
SERVE: Go behind the scenes experiencing service in various areas of camp.

The first session in the High School Program. The program is designed to be completed in sequence (Adventure, then Serve). Not able to do it consecutive weeks? No problem! Sign up for weeks that fit your schedule, though it must still be done in sequence.

“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
                                                                                                 John 10:10

Exploring the basic foundations of the Christian faith, students will learn what it means to live outside of their comfort zone by taking a week out of the normal day-to-day routine. Students will take different trips and adventures around the greater Seattle area. Balancing adventure and reflection, students will have a chance to see something outside of their daily lives and talk with fellow students about their thoughts. Unplug from the world and take a trip with us.

For all rising high school students entering 9th-12th grade. Two mentors (male & female) will oversee students in this program with the help of our High School Program Supervisor.

SAMBICA will partner with Compass Outdoor Adventures to lead in portions of the off camp adventures. Each of their guides contain Wilderness First Aid Certification and are well experienced in guiding youth through outdoor recreational activities.

The Adventure Week will be a truly unique and enriching experience. An Adventure to kick off an amazing summer! Please note: Half of the participants will begin the week at SAMBICA, while the other half will begin away from camp doing the adventure activities listed below (Wed – Fri) and will end their week at SAMBICA for challenge course, waterfront, and local adventures.

Monday: SAMBICA Challenge Course and a taste of the SAMBICA Waterfront. Beginning outdoor adventure training and teambuilding.
Tuesday: Diving into God’s Word and getting to know your mentors and friends even better. Mini adventures around the area to explore our city.
Wednesday: We will start our Adventure on the other side of Snoqualmie Pass, bike (downhill) through the mountains, and end the day at a camp site near Snoqualmie Falls to spend the night.
Thursday: Hike to and explore Snoqualmie Falls from a unique private view at the base of the waterfall. Camp out near Snoqualmie Falls.
Friday: Complete the trek back to camp with a float on the Snoqualmie River down into Fall City (weather permitting). We will then celebrate the successful journey back at SAMBICA!

Nights will be spent with the Serve portion of the High School Program at SAMBICA and then out on the trail with your team. The away from SAMBICA Adventure portion will be guided and led by the experts at Compass Outdoor Adventures along with the SAMBICA team.

Campers should pack and prepare for an outdoor adventure. Please note, cell phones and other electronic devices are strictly prohibited. SAMBICA team members (mentors) will have cell phones should communication with SAMBICA or parents be necessary.
